ReTRAIN’s Work Experience programs offers hands-on training in a variety of settings and skill areas. Flexible scheduling is combined with individual needs to create customized trainings for youth and adults who need an introduction to work and worksite expectations.
Work Experience training is available in:
Cash register and money handling practiced on ReSOURCE’s computerized cash registers and by completing standard retail cash management practices. Additional experience in cash handling including basic math exercises is available.
Customer service and phone skills practiced in one of ReSOURCE’s retail settings by communicating with shoppers, donors and telephone customers. A certification in customer service is available.
Attendance and punctuality practiced by setting a schedule, communicating with a supervisor on schedule changes, and employing strategies to make it to work on time and stay for a full shift. Work may be in any one of ReSOURCE’s training settings.
Time and task management practiced by setting goals with a supervisor and completing tasks on time. Communication, self advocacy, and prioritizing are stressed. Work may be in any one of ReSOURCE’s training settings.
Specific skill building to improve an identified weakness.
